Space To Play

BIOGRAPHY

Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Space to Play embodies the spirit of musical exploration, embracing a philosophy that transcends genre boundaries. Formed by a collective of seasoned musicians, the band thrives on creativity and artistry, inviting listeners on a journey where the music takes center stage.

The band formed in 2021, out of an evolution of the band Blue Moon Ghetto. BMG is an Omaha rock band that achieved remarkable success in the Midwest in the 1990’s, selling 20000 records independently and garnering heavy airplay from regional radio. BMG shared the stage with such acts as Ben Folds Five, Semisonic, The Urge, Seven Mary Three, Spacehog, God Lives Underwater, Local H, and others.

Matt Banta, a gifted singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, fronted Blue Moon Ghetto and now Space To Play.

Brothers Clint and Kevin Thomas (bass and guitar, respectively) and drummer Scott Evans had been involved in successful bands in the Omaha area (Secret Skin, Clever, Old Boy Network, Man Down) and initially joined the group in order to play the occasional BMG show. Now they are part of the Space To Play family and each bring their individual talents and experiences to the mix.

The final member of the band is their producer and percussionist, Dana Murray. Dana is an esteemed record producer and also a world renowned drummer, having played with such acts as Norah Jones, Branford and Wynton Marsalis, Aloe Blacc, and others.

The band hopes to get themselves heard by as many people as they can, confident that this album will help them build a community of fans that fall in love with the music and the band’s authentic pursuit of higher and higher heights musically.
