Majorette

BIOGRAPHY

“Sappy but snappy” is the promise of Queens based songwriter Danielle “Majorette” Salomon whose short melodic tunes have been known to cause deja vu. “A combination of nostalgia and wit” (Tom Gallo, Look at My Records!), Salomon's writing is dreamy and sentimental with a dash of drollery.

Initially a bedroom project consisting of demos recorded on her 1986 Yamaha PSS 270, collaboration with guitarist Eli Recht-Appel (Diamond Grinder), bassist Bianca Butler, violinist/vocalist Athena Matsil (Awksymoron, Talulah Paisley), and percussionist David Ball (Reclining Nude), elevated the project to the Majorette of dreams, or possibly memories.

Heard a tune you can’t forget, could it be its Majorette?
