Becca Hannah

BIOGRAPHY

Watching Becca Hannah on stage, audiences are carried through time by the pureness of her soulful sound. With a voice from another era, and a diverse range of influences, fans of Hannah are drawn to her potent blend of RnB, jazz, soul, and blues. As her chattery mind clears and her heart center erupts, so does ours. She infuses every note with love and compassion, wrapping listeners in a warmth that feels like a hug.

Becca finds writing and singing more accessible than speaking. She writes from the depths of her soul through exploring her stream of consciousness, and has been singing and yearning for the stage since her toddler years. While words can sometimes feel overwhelming, music has always come naturally. Through song, she gives voice to the complex, nuanced emotions that are often impossible to articulate verbally.

Originally from Boston, Becca holds a deep love for her hometown. But nearly two years ago, she stepped out of her comfort zone and moved across the country to further pursue her singing and songwriting career in Los Angeles. Tristan Jantz, her good friend and co-collaborator, had just moved to the city of angels a year prior!

Becca and Tristan first crossed paths in Boston’s music scene around 2021, where they played local gigs and began writing together—quickly proving themselves the ultimate dynamic duo. Becca leads with heart and spunky spontaneity, while Tristan, a true dreamer, brings sharp vision and flawless execution.

That same year, they performed at Jay-Z’s Made In America Festival in Philadelphia. For the show, Tristan reconnected with his high school friend, Brooklyn-based bassist Conner Duke, who joined them onstage. In May, Conner flew out to LA to record the album with them—a true full-circle moment.

Since moving to LA, their creative circle has flourished. Tristan introduced Becca to Ari Lachenauer at Hollywood’s acclaimed Hotel Cafe, where Tristan and Ari had an artist showcase in early 2024. Becca and Ari immediately clicked, their East Coast energy shining through their bold, playful banter. Soon after, it was evident that Ari’s soulful, gritty, sparkly vocals were a perfect addition to the two duets Tristan and Becca wrote. The trio eventually submitted a live rendition of “Rewind” for a 2025 Tiny Desk submission, in which they were selected as finalists!

Tristan later introduced Becca to soul brother Pàppa D, whose buttery keys and magnetic, loving energy became essential to the project. They also met drummer Dominic Anzalone at a Santa Monica show—an instant connection that led to them playing together just three days later.

Tristan called in his childhood friend, and fellow Berklee Alumnus, George Pereli, to grace the album with his musical arranging talents. Pereli is the mastermind behind all of the intricate horn parts that were essential for creating the magical mixture of classic soul and modern RnB that the songs were demanding.

Tristan and Pàppa D met trombonist, Benny Lipson, at Hollywood’s Black Rabbit Rose, where he performs regularly, and immediately knew he was the man for the job.

Benny took the lead in pulling together the other members of the horn section, with saxophonist Bill Todd, and trumpetist, Austin Drake who blew us all away.

After the first rehearsal it was apparent the chemistry of the group was undeniable, and they were all eager to hit the studio!
