SNOE.DOWN AT LAKE PLACID DEEMED A HUGE SUCCESS

(Lake Placid, NY) -- moe. hosted Snoe.down March 17-19, 2006. The event kicked off the week-long Adirondack Almost Springfest celebration, and took place at both the famed Olympic Center in Lake Placid, NY, home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, and at nearby Whiteface.

The event was a huge success for the artists and fans alike.

"We couldn't have asked for a better inaugural year for what, we hope, becomes an annual event," said moe. guitarist Al Schnier. "Everyone involved, including Great Northeast, Whiteface, the Olympic Center, the local unions, our sponsors: Verizon, Yuengling, Ketel One, and Rockstar, the Olympic athletes, the local and state police, the local merchants, the musicians, and especially our fans made this a wonderful event."

moe. performed Friday and Saturday night to a packed house in the Herb Brooks "Miracle on Ice" 1980 arena. Verizon Luge Challenge sponsored an additional moe. set, performed on Saturday afternoon at the outdoor stage at Whiteface.

"The weather had to be in the single digits to low teens with wind chill," said Schnier. "We had several thousand fans outdoors in one of the most beautiful areas of our country, rocking out in the snow for
over 2 hours!"

moe. was presented with Team USA Hockey jerseys in the 1980 Arena by Ben Jaehne and Marji Blea of Great Northeast Productions, the co-promoter of the event.

"Performing where the USA Hockey Team won the Gold Medal in 1980 was incredible!," said moe. drummer Vinnie Amico.

Fans enjoyed skating on the 1932 rink to twirling lights and a live feed from the main stage music during the festival.

The US Olympic Luge team was also invited to join in the celebration, appearing on the outdoor stage to huge applause by the fans.

moe. guitarist Chuck Garvey took a run on the bobsled with the professional bobsledders. Here's what he had to say: "Fifty two seconds of greased-lightening, butt-kicking fun!"

Other highlights included The Everyone Orchestra conducted by founder Matt Butler, which featured Phish's Jon Fishman, Jazz Mandolin Project's Jamie Masefield, Steve Kimock, Peter Apfelbaum, and Samantha
Stollenwerck. moe.'s Al Schnier, Rob Derhak, Vinnie Amico and Jim Loughlin also joined the Orchestra in the jam on stage, as well as Gordon Stone and Assembly Of Dust's Reid Genauer; Soulive's funky performance; Assembly of Dust brought the roof down; The San Francisco jam-based rock and roll band Tea Leaf Green packed the Lodge at Whiteface; and James Hunter won over the audience with his smooth soul and impassioned performance.

Verizon, a founding sponsor of USA Luge, sponsored the Verizon Luge Challenge at Whiteface March 18-19. Yuengling, America's Oldest Brewery, provided the brew, Ketel One provided ice cold vodka and Rockstar Energy Drink kept everyone dancing into the wee hours.
