Zykos

Poised to be Austin's next breakout act, Zykos are back with a new EP. The EP was produced by Mike
McCarthy (Spoon, …Trail of Dead) and contains some of the band’s best material to date. Since their
inception in 2003, Zykos have been cited for their exciting performances and inventive songwriting.
Having previously released two full length LPs and compiled a host of successful tours with many of your
favorite bands (Cursive, TV on the Radio, Explosions in the Sky, Okkervil River, The Good Life and The
Hold Steady), Zykos spent the last few years revitalizing their sound. Vocal duties have shifted to a twoheaded
approach including frontman and guitarist Mike Booher as well as pianist Catherine Davis, which
has injected a new-found richness to the arrangements. Davis' lofty, angelic vocals soften the edgy and
affecting power of Booher's unique voice. The rhythm section is comprised of bassist Mike Roeder and
drummer Cully Symington (Bishop Allen, Twilight Singers) provide vigorous organic pacing which serves
as the perfect canvas for the exploratory nature of Zykos' dual guitars. On lead guitar, studio-whiz Alex
